Classic - but not pink- Toddler Girl Bedroom

Some of the pieces I’ve been collecting for the toddler’s room

Don’t Worry, There will be some pink

So, I am absolutely not against a good classic pink girls room. I’ve done my fair share of them with my older daughter. And in the closet nursery the wall was a dusty rosy pink. But this go round I’m feeling like yellow might be the answer. I really love what In Honor Of Design just did in their daughter, Veronica’s room.

I mean, isn’t that stunning? I do not have a budget for wallpaper though so either I would need to do all yellow walls or a yellow/white combination. I haven’t even gotten samples yet but I love how buttery, warm and classic this feels in the room Anna and Gabe did. Lets take a look at what I’ve gathered so far.

The anchor pieces here are obviously the wooden chest for toys. I snagged it at a neighbors yard sale for $15, and the dresser I snagged off the side of the road for FREE! It’s mid project, as it needs to be completely sanded and sealed. Then we have the gingham Pooh artwork hiding in the back, along with the piece of artwork hiding behind the rocking horse that my sister painted of my older daughter many years ago, just wait until you see it hanging. It’s precious. Then we have the white rocking horse that I got off of the buy nothing group. It’s also handmade, and I need to give it a new tail. I grabbed a mop head from $ tree to do that.

The lamps I picked up when I was thrifting with a friend in another city for $12 for the pair. and Kanga and Roo were birthday gifts. She got all of the other Pooh characters, but no one else has made the favorite cut, and Kanga and Roo live in her crib. She sets them up at the end of her crib and they watch over her while she sleeps. it’s adorable. There is a myriad of baskets which will get used in various ways, and you can see a pile of rope in the white basket, that is rope for her swing. Yep, she is absolultely getting a swing in her room. It will be very close to the floor so she can’t hurt herself falling off, and it will be magical.

I have gathered similar items together in an Amazon collection if you want to achieve a similar look. I do highly reccomend sourcing things locally as much as possible though because character cannot be bought on Amazon. You get quirky and handmade and unexpected from your local thrift store, antique store, and buy nothing group. Or your Grandma’s attic if you’re lucky.
