No bake cookies drying on was paper on the table
Everyone has a version of this. Mine is better.
I have seen these cookies everywhere, all my life. But none of them are as good as the ones I grew up eating. So lets get into it. These are a cookie that you cook, on the stovetop. And they are super simple. Cocoa, Peanute Butter, Oats,Milk, Butter, Vanilla. Simple ingredients and really easy to make them Gluten and Dairy Free. There is one part that is fairly specific if you want these to firm up and set properly. Once the mixture comes to a full rolling boil, you HAVE to set a timer for ONE AND A HALF MINUTES. Not any shorter, or they will be little piles of liquid oats and chocolate, and not any longer or they will dry out and be flaky and fall apart when they set. Ok, lets look at the process and I will put the recipe down below.
A note about Gluten and Dairy Free. I use Certified Gluten Free oats for everything oat in our house, and for Dairy Free I just use a Gluten/Dairy Free milk alternative. We prefer a Gluten Free Oatmilk with minimal ingredients. If you are strictly Dairy Free you can skip the candy on top or you can get the Unreal M&M alternatives that are Gluten and Dairy Free.
